Cari en Chris hadden een prachtig bestemming bruiloft in Jekyll Island, Georgië. We begonnen het verkennen van het eiland met de twee van hen voor hun betrokkenheid film slechts twee dagen voor de bruiloft. Ze hadden plezier paardrijden fietsen en beroemde Driftwood bezoek Jekyll Island’s Beach, en ze afgewerkt de shoot op de pier bij zonsondergang. en ik telde de dagen tot onze trouwdag sinds ik 14 was! We zetten de datum, zondag, 3 juni bijna vier jaar geleden, want ik wilde om te trouwen op de verjaardag van mijn opa. Hij en mijn oma had de liefste liefde die ik ooit gekend heb, en ik wilde houden ze te sluiten op de belangrijkste dag van mijn leven. Ik speldde de cameo mijn grootmoeder in haar 1952 afstuderen foto om mijn boeket droeg als mijn “iets ouds.” Dat waren de eerste twee beslissingen die we maakten, en daarna het thema van onze tijd samen kwamen heel gemakkelijk. Het hebben van een zondag bruiloft leek heel natuurlijk en geholpen met maken het comfort wilden we onze gasten om te voelen.

Na een middag met mijn moeder en zus in een bruids show, was ik bladerde door een bruids tijdschrift en zag een advertentie voor de Jekyll Island Club Hotel. Het was liefde op het eerste gezicht helemaal opnieuw! Ik zei tegen mijn moeder: “Ik heb het gevonden! Dit is waar we gaan trouwen! “We belden de volgende dag, reed dat weekend en we boekten onze dag met uit te kijken. Als een sociale studies leraar, de Jekyll Island Club Hotel mits alleen het uitstekende, historische elegantie ik zocht. Het was zo geweldig om onze dag te vieren met die het dichtst bij ons en de omgeving hebben onze dierbaren hele weekend. Die dagen zijn herinneringen die we zullen altijd koesteren!

Geïnspireerd door een spectaculaire zonsondergang over het water in Jekyll Island, kozen we voor een kleurenpalet van zachte roze, crème en goud voor een dromerige, romantische look. Ik wilde een vintage uitstraling te creëren, maar nog steeds houden de blik samenhangend. De locatie was prachtig op zichzelf dus ik wilde haar natuurlijke schoonheid te verbeteren, zonder overschaduwen het. Mijn favoriete functie van ons huwelijk was het kristal en melkglas centerpieces. De roze bloemen aanvulling op de witte containers prachtig. Onze fantastische bloemist verraste me met pioenrozen voor mijn boeket na het vertellen me dat hij kon ze niet krijgen, en het was de zoetste verrassing! Onze verkopers waren fenomenaal en bijgedragen tot het creëren een dag mooier dan ik ooit had kunnen dromen!

Toen Steven voorgesteld in oktober vorig jaar op de ranch van mijn familie in het zuidwesten van Texas, kon ik haast niet wachten om te beginnen met het plannen van onze droom bruiloft. Steven en ik gedateerd voor bijna vier jaar voordat hij voorgesteld, maar hij nam me volledig off guard, toen hij stelde de vraag voor mijn hele familie op een bluf met uitzicht op de ranch. Zodra we bezig waren, gingen we op zoek naar het perfecte, rustieke plek om onze “shabby-chic” bruiloft te organiseren. Na het zoeken van de regio Houston, hebben we besloten om Stonebrook Hall te gebruiken op Amber Springs als onze locatie.

Na onze verloving, zijn we begonnen met schuren antiekwinkels rond Texas voor blauwe metselaar potten, kant kleedjes, gehaakte tafelkleden, broches en een verscheidenheid van vintage prullaria. We stopten in bijna elk Antique Mall of vintage winkel die we passeerden, dus voor mij voelde het als een speurtocht! Ik wist dat ik een mix van kant, rustiek hout en schittering voor het decor wilde, dus we begonnen het samenstellen van onze visie om al die elementen en texturen samen te brengen. We besloten om op een palet van Tiffany blauw, crème, jute en natuurlijk hout als onze inspiratie. Mijn geweldige moeder, Lynn, was instrumenteel in de loop van dit proces, zoals ze begon bewerken tot een storm, het creëren van ambachtelijke papieren bloemen om te laten zien achter onze taart tafel, het samenstellen van mijn broche boeket, helpen om stuk samen kroonluchters dat zou worden opgehangen in onze plaats en het maken van elke gast de plaats kaart. We wilden een outdoor ceremonie hebben, maar ook wilde dat het gevoel dat we zijn getrouwd in een oude witgekalkte kerk. Een van mijn beste vrienden uit de kindertijd is een voorganger in de Woodlands, dus het was heel bijzonder om hem zijn onze officiant. Een van de dingen die Steven was het meest enthousiast over het dragen waren de aangepaste Meyer laarzen die ik had voor hem gemaakt voor zijn bruiloft aanwezig is. We wilden alles op “familie stijl,” voel me zo de boerderij tafels en een open buffet bijgedragen aan een niveau van comfort voor elk van onze gasten. Steven en ik hou van dansen, en onze prachtige band, The Drywater Band, hield iedereen op de dansvloer de hele nacht.
